“483A.36 MANNER OF CONVEYANCE.
No A person, except as permitted by law, shall not have or carry a gun in or on a vehicle on a public highway, unless the gun is taken down or totally contained in a securely fastened case, and its barrels and permanently attached magazines are unloaded.”

This bill deals with the transportation of firearms on the public highway. The key change in this provision is the addition of the words ‘permanently attached’ magazines. This bill allows you to be able to transport your pistol in your vehicle with a loaded magazine as long as its still ‘securely fastened’ or ‘taken down.’
