Don’t Let Bloomberg’s Cronies Shut Iowa Gun Owners Down!

Any day now, I expect a loud knock at my door.

A slick anti-gun government lawyer — armed with trumped-up legal complaints from Michael Bloomberg-backed gun control organizations and their pals in the General Assembly — will be grinning from ear-to-ear as he tells me, “SEE YOU IN COURT!”

When I first started Iowa Gun Owners I thought things like this didn’t happen in America.

But today, with the critical November elections rapidly approaching, I’m forced to prepare for yet another frivolous legal assault.

Sadly, it doesn’t matter that Iowa Gun Owners plays by the rules.  It doesn’t matter that we don’t break laws (or even bend them) like so many other organizations do.

More often than not, we’re attacked for just being effective!

With the November elections right around the corner, the gun-grabbers are going to use EVERY tool at their disposal — including legal attacks — to try to DESTROY our 2018 election year programs before they can even get off the ground.

That’s why, as you’ll see, I’ve prepared a brief three-question Iowa Gun Owners’ Member Ballot for your review. More on that below.

The truth is, I simply must have your advice right away.

As it stands right now, I do not have the funds to fight back against the gun-grabbers’ legal assaults — AND run a full election year program — at the same time.

So Iowa Gun Owners will be a sitting duck unless I can fix this problem — FAST.

The truth is, IGO has seen more than our fair share of legal assaults in the past.

In fact, just last year, a bitter member of the General Assembly hit us with 47 pages of baseless charges.

Why?

It was punishment for the Stand-Your-Ground bill that we hammered through during the 2017 legislative session.

We won that case.  But it cost thousands in legal fees I would have rather spent defending our Second Amendment freedoms.

That’s just been the tip of the iceberg of outlandish legal attacks we’ve faced over the past few years, including:

***  Being targeted by the Iowa State Sheriff and Deputies Association (ISSA) and anti-gun city councils for stopping local gun bans;

***  Being threatened by an insider lobbyist who threatened to sue me because I reposted a Facebook picture of her with drunken anti-gun legislators and told our members these were the folks who helped derail our pro-gun bills!

***  One state legislator falsely accusing IGO members of sending death threats.

Sadly, I’m afraid this kind of nonsense just goes with the territory.  And worse, it’s all designed to get good folks like you and me to stop “bothering” our “poor politicians.”

That way they can whittle away at our most cherished freedoms without ever having to worry about answering to the voters back home!

I’ve never, ever believed that’s the way politics should work — not for a second.  I still believe politicians work for us, not the other way around.  That’s why I started Iowa Gun Owners in the first place.

Without organizations like Iowa Gun Owners out there to call politicians to the carpet for their records, I shudder to think how many MORE of our freedoms would have already been tossed by the wayside.

That’s why they want to shut me up so badly ahead of November 2018.  They’ve seen just how effective our election year program is, after all.

So I simply must have your input right away, please complete your 3-question Membership Ballot right away

Over the past few years, some of the biggest anti-gun names in Iowa have bitten the political dust after being exposed by IGO’s never-ending barrage of mail, radio and social media ads.

That’s included even Senate President Mike Gronstal and Senate Judiciary Chairman Steve Sodders, who used their positions of power to stonewall Stand-Your-Ground!

But the truth is, the list goes on and on.

The gun-grabbers know that the moment politicians stop fearing backlash from the folks back home during election years, they’ll be free to go on a rampage attacking our Second Amendment freedoms.

Believing the media line that the political winds will be blowing their way this election year, they’re going all-out to try to flip one house of the Iowa General Assembly and our Governorship.

Should they succeed, you and I will have our hands full stopping the gun-grabbers’ radical agenda for Iowa, including:

***  STAND-YOUR-GROUND REPEAL.  Gun-grabbers are still stinging from the defeat you and I handed them last year on Stand Your Ground and are going to go all-out to repeal it.

***  STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION UNDER THE GUISE OF UNIVERSAL “BACKGROUND CHECKS.”  As a former cop, I can tell you the only way such a scheme can be enforced is if the government keeps records of every gun and gun owner.  And as you and I know, registration is just the first step toward CONFISCATION;

***  A STATEWIDE SO-CALLED “ASSAULT WEAPONS” BAN.  It’s already been widely discussed among the gun-grabbers here in Iowa.  Should anti-gun Democrats regain their majority, it won’t be long until they go all-out to ban guns they call “assault weapons” — starting with semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and even handguns.

That’s why our 2018 election year program has never been more important, and that’s why I need to hear from IGO members right away

In fact, until just a few days ago, my hope was to run the biggest program in Iowa Gun Owners’ history leading up to the November elections — using mail, emails, Internet ads, and even hard-hitting newspaper, radio and TV ads if I could raise the money to pay for them.

But I’m afraid, as it stands right now, I won’t be able to fund both a full-scale legal defense AND the election year effort.

I know we’ve done nothing wrong.  But I can’t imagine just sitting back and hoping I don’t run into an anti-gun judge or prosecutor in the courtroom.

I have to prepare for the worst — or else, I could be a sitting duck.  So I need you to tell me what to do:

OPTION #1: Should I ignore the legal threats, hope nothing bad happens, and go all-in with a full-scale election year program?

OPTION #2Should I just give in to the gun-grabbers, cut off all of Iowa Gun Owners’ election year programs, and put all my focus onto these frivolous legal threats?  But if I choose this option, I know I’ll just be emboldening them to try it again and again in the future.

OPTION #3Or should I FIGHT BACK on all fronts and keep my legal and election year programs running at full blast?

I know what I want to do.  But I don’t have millions of dollars sitting around in the bank like BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg and his pals.

Iowa Gun Owners is run on a shoestring budget.  OPTION #3 just really isn’t an “option” without a massive and IMMEDIATE influx of funds from Iowa Gun Owners’ members and supporters.

So if this is the option you choose, won’t you please agree to your most generous contribution of $100 TODAY?

I know that’s far more than you’ve given in the past.  But the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Of course, if $100 is just too much, won’t you please agree to $50 or at least $25 right away?

With the November elections right around the corner and critical races heating up, I need to hear from you right away.

Please fill out your Iowa Gun Owners’ Member Ballot and send it back in to me IMMEDIATELY.
