Gun Control Freight Train!

Everything changed in Iowa in the fight for gun rights on February 14 — the date of the Parkland, FL shooting.

Within a day, our Constitutional Carry bill was pulled for the year.

Within a week, House leadership signaled that they were officially in retreat and began talking about advancing ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation.

Within a month, two thousand Iowans came out and mobbed the Iowa Capitol demanding a radical gun control proposal including banning AR15’s, banning mags over 10 round capacity, universal gun registration and more!

If gun owners don’t stand up and fight back right now and stop this gun control freight train, we are in for a huge battle in 2019!

That’s why I hope you will read the email we sent out over the weekend — about our plan for November — and then help us put this plan into action.

The stakes are high.

Please read this and take action at once!

Re:       IGO’S Plan for November

The November elections are rapidly approaching.

With the Emerson University AND Iowa Poll showing Kim Reynolds trailing Fred Hubbell, gun-grabbers are more emboldened than ever.

They believe they’re poised to seize control of Iowa’s ENTIRE state government!

With even partial control of state government, they’ll IMMEDIATELY move to RAM through all sorts of radical gun control schemes as soon as the legislature convenes in January!

The good news is, Iowa Gun Owners is doing everything we can to hold off this impending gun control DISASTER.

In fact, my staff and I have been working literally around the clock for days now, and we’ve just put the finishing touches on Iowa Gun Owners’ critical 2018 Plan for November.

I believe it’s absolutely crucial you review it right away.

And with time running out, I’m counting on your generous financial support to help to put this plan into action.

As you’ll see, I’ve budgeted $280,000 to put Iowa Gun Owners’ Plan for November into action.

Subtracting money already in, we still must raise $109,900 to launch the full program.

I know that may sound steep, however, it’s only a fraction of what Michael Bloomberg and his anti-gun pals are going to spend.

But time is running out.  So I need to hear from you as soon as possible!

Without your support, I’m afraid the gun-grabbers could very well get their way.

I can’t begin to explain what a DISASTER that would be.

Instead of building on last year’s success in passing Stand-Your-Ground by working for Constitutional Carry, our backs will be against the wall.

With thousands of (likely paid) protestors flooding our state capital grounds — and the media openly cheerleading for the outright DESTRUCTION of our Second Amendment freedoms — the Gun Control Lobby will move to ram through their entire radical agenda, including:

***  The outright REPEAL of Stand-Your-Ground.

Once wiped off the books, the gun-grabbers’ puppet prosecutors and judges will work to nail to the wall ANY Iowan who dares to use a firearm in self-defense.  That way, law-abiding Iowans will just be flat-out too afraid to even try to defend themselves against criminal attack;

***  A total BAN on AR-15’s and any other so-called “assault weapon” they think looks “scary.”

Don’t be fooled, this could easily include many commonly-owned handguns, shotguns and other firearms used for hunting;

***  So-called “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Orders, which could allow government goons to seize your guns just because someone (even a bitter ex-girlfriend or husband) complains about you.

No matter how innocent you are, you could still spend months and thousands of dollars on legal fees trying to get them back;

***  Statewide Gun Registration under the guise of so-called “Universal Background Checks.”

As a former cop, I can tell you that the ONLY way such a system could be enforced is if the state government keeps track of every gun and gun owner in the state.  And as you and I know, registration is just the first step toward CONFISCATION.

Sadly, I’m afraid even all this may not be the end of it.

“Shall Issue” could be on the chopping block as well, allowing local law enforcement agencies to deny you a permit to carry a concealed weapon just because they don’t like your race, religion, or political views.

That’s why Second Amendment supporters need to do all we can to hold the line by fighting back hard NOW.

There are so many races all over our state where Iowa’s gun owners can make a difference, including Senate District 39, 27, 7 and others!

That’s why Iowa Gun Owners is not going to pull any punches leading up to the November elections.

In fact, I’ve put together a four-part plan to ensure that no candidate can hide from their records, surveys, or public statements, including:

1)   A two-phase hard-hitting mail program designed to EXPOSE candidates’ true records on Second Amendment issues;

2)   An Internet, phone and email blitz calling anti-gun candidates to the carpet for their refusal to move on pro-gun reforms;

3)   An earned media blitz where you and I will bring the Second Amendment issue to the forefront of the 2018 elections;

4)   A hard-hitting radio, newspaper and perhaps even TV ad campaign hitting Michael Bloomberg’s top allies in Iowa for their radical records and public statements.

I need your help to put our plan into action.

As I mentioned, time is running out and we still must raise $109,900!

Won’t you please agree to your most generous gift of $100 to help put it into action?

If that’s too much, perhaps all you can afford is $50 or at least $25.

Whatever you can give, please agree to act IMMEDIATELY.

The 2018 elections are going to be absolutely critical.

The good news is, candidates listen most closely to the folks back home when running for office, so NOW is the time to take action.

I’m chomping at the bit to launch this program.  But I can’t do it without your support.

So please rush me your most generous contribution of $100, $50 or $25 right away!

IGO 2018 Plan for November and Budget

Mail Program in Targeted Districts                               Cost: $132,000

A series of two hard-hitting survey results letters informing approximately 140,000 pro-gun grassroots patriots in targeted districts how their candidates responded to the IGO survey.  Letters begin hitting the week of October 22.  They will hit through November 6.

Internet, Phone and Email Program                              Cost: $18,000

Host all candidates’ survey responses on IGO’s Facebook page, and pay for statewide Internet ads urging Iowa gun owners to see where their candidates stand on Second Amendment issues.  Pay for a series of five emails – including three deploys to a statewide pro-Second Amendment prospect list – and two rounds of exposing the records of anti-gun politicians.

Earned Media Program                                                  Cost: $7,000

Work talk-radio call-in lines, write op-eds and letters to the editor, host media interviews, and work highly-trafficked political blogs to inform as many Iowans as possible about their candidates’ positions on the Second Amendment.

Paid Media Program                                                     Cost: $123,000

Run hard-hitting newspaper, radio and even TV ads if IGO has the resources, targeting anti-gun state legislators and candidates, insisting they change their views on this critical issue.
