Last week, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) attacked President Trump’s push for a National Reciprocity law.

(And you can imagine what their reaction would be to our ultimate goal: national Constitutional Carry legislation!)

For generations, gun owners respected law enforcement.

And while we still respect front line cops that do their best to stop violent crime and put bad guys in jail, most of us feel righteous contempt for their department heads.

That’s especially true for unelected police chiefs, who are political operatives much more than they are peace officers.
 

In their statement last week both the IACP and FOP slammed H.R. 38 — which makes concealed carry permits valid nationwide — as dangerous to law enforcement with no proof given.

It’s total BS.

Allowing gun owners to carry nationwide would be the best thing that could happen for citizens, and for cops. Don’t forget, criminals and foreigners are ALREADY armed!

If you’re having a hard time coming to grips with the Fraternal Order of Police and International Chiefs of Police attacking gun rights, I’m sorry to say, you’re behind the times.

Both of these organizations are hard core enemies to the Second Amendment! They are in full support of gun control like:

👉 A nationwide ban on the AR-15 and similar firearms

👉 A nationwide gun registry, ending private sales

👉 A nationwide waiting period on gun sales

👉 A nationwide ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ law

👉 A nationwide ban on college campus carry

👉 A nationwide ban on suppressors

And you should know the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Fraternal Order of Police don’t just push for gun control in DC — they do it at the state level, too.

In fact, here in Iowa, we’ve had opposition from law enforcement every single time we file pro-gun legislation.

What can you do with this information? Three things:

1. Never give these two organizations a dime of your money! Give it to organizations like ours, who actually defend gun rights.
2. Tell your legislators that while front line cops are usually pro-gun, their lobbyists are the enemy! Insist that they do not follow their suggestions on gun rights legislation.
3. Tell your friends, coworkers, hunting buddies, shooting buddies (especially is they are older) that the days of law enforcement being officially pro-gun are over.
