This was an historic victory!

HF-945 passed the House moments ago by a jaw-dropping margin of 89-6!

What’s even more unbelievable is that a Democrat sponsored amendment that we approved of actually made the bill better!

We have never seen Democrats act like this in Iowa when it comes to our Second Amendment rights.

You all played a massive role in getting us here, but we can’t let off the gas!

HF-945 strengthens our Stand-Your-Ground law by adding a pre-trial immunity hearing process to our existing Stand-Your-Ground law.

Presently, we are only allowed to assert Stand-Your-Ground law on an appeal.

This might seem like on inconsequential change, but to a gun owner who was just forced to defend himself, these protections may mean the difference between spending the rest of your life in prison, or not.

The bill also provides clarity regarding civil immunities in the wake of a self-defense shooting.

But here’s the deal — this bill isn’t law yet. HF-945 is headed to the Senate now…and we all know what could happen there.

The Senate leans more liberal, and very often good bills leave the House, only to die in the Senate.

That’s why its important that you contact your State Senator immediately, and tell him/her to vote yes on HF-945.
