Victory: HF-924 Signed Into Law!

Huge news! Late Friday, Governor Kim Reynolds signed HF-924 into law. That means that starting July 1st, 18- to 20-year-olds can once again apply for a concealed carry permit in Iowa!

This is a massive win for freedom.

Despite the media’s hysterics, Iowans could always get a carry permit at 18 until Democrats raised the age to 21 in 2010.

HF-924 simply restores these rights, aligning with the Constitution, the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, our 8th Circuit rulings, and plain common sense.

Young adults can serve in the military, marry, and pay taxes –now they can carry to protect themselves, just as they should. This isn’t new; it’s Iowa’s tradition, reclaimed!

Your unrelenting pressure made this happen! Thousands of you flooded lawmakers with emails, driving HF-924 through the House (79-18) and Senate (33-14).

Your voices crushed opposition from groups like the League of Women Voters and Iowans for Gun Safety. Thank you, IGO members, for standing tall!

A huge shout-out to Representative Steve Holt, the bill’s sponsor and floor manager, who fought tirelessly for our Second Amendment rights. His leadership was unstoppable!

(IGO’s Aaron Dorr and Rep. Steve Holt, earlier this session in the Iowa Capitol. Holt was the lead sponsor of HF-924.)

And thank you, Governor Reynolds, for signing HF-924 into law, ensuring Iowa remains a beacon of liberty!

We’re not done yet—stay ready for the next fight. For now, celebrate this victory for Iowa’s gun owners and our Constitution!
