After winning big in November, Democrats across the country are fired up. Now they are wasting no time laying the groundwork for their next major gun control push.

Here in Iowa, the warning signs are already flashing.

The Iowa Democratic Party is now openly pushing for legislation that mandates civil liability insurance as a condition of buying a gun here in Iowa.

This is not idle talk.
This is not a rumor.
It’s all over their website.

This policy is moving nationwide — in red and blue states — and now Democrats want to bring it here.

And make no mistake: we need to crush this before it ever becomes law.

But that’s exactly how these schemes always start — the Dems throw up a trial balloon, gauge the resistance from gun owners, and if they feel like it’s safe, they pounce.

Here’s what this legislation would actually do:

• Force law-abiding Iowans to purchase a government-approved insurance policy just to buy a gun.
• Condition us to accepting crazy infringements on our gun rights, making it easier to pass more gun control later.

Of course, it wouldn’t stop the thugs who are shooting up Des Moines, Waterloo, or the Quad Cities. But this bill wasn’t designed to stop them; it’s designed to harass us.
