I’ll get right to the point: November could be a disaster for the Second Amendment here in Iowa.
And if it is, you and I both know what comes next.
The Democrats aren’t hiding what they want to do to our gun rights. Give them the Governor’s mansion and enough votes in the legislature, and they’ll go for the throat in January.
Right now, the Left thinks the political winds are at their backs. And they may be right.
Midterm elections are always tough on the party that controls the White House. Trump is not on the ballot; how much of his base turns out without having him to vote for? And how many people don’t vote, angry about ongoing wars and gas prices?
That’s what worries me.
I’ve spent a lot of time talking with people around Iowa about what they’re seeing on the ground.
And I’m telling you, if gun owners decide this election isn’t worth showing up for, November 3 could be a very bad night.
If that happens, you can forget expanding gun rights any further. We’ll be fighting like hell in Des Moines just to stop the Democrats from rolling back the freedoms we’ve already secured!
Any way you look at it, you and I are heading into a major fight — and the consequences for our gun rights could last for years to come.
The good news is that Iowa Gun Owners is preparing to fight back. We have just completed our critical 2026 “Plan for November,” and I wanted to make sure you saw it right away.
But time is running out. And I’m counting on your generous financial support to help us put this plan into action.
>>> HELP IGO HOLD THE LINE IN DES MOINES! <<<
NOTE: THE DETAILS OF THIS PLAN ARE FOR IGO MEMBERS ONLY. I’M SURE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY. SO PLEASE KEEP THIS INTERNAL.
As you’ll see, I’ve budgeted $164,550 to put the Iowa Gun Owners’ ‘Plan for November’ into action.
Subtracting money already allocated for this program, we still must raise $100,550 between now and October 11, to run this program at full speed.
I know that’s a lot. But between the U.S. Senate race and the governor’s race, the Democrats are likely to spend over $55,000,000 here in Iowa and that’s not counting state legislative races.
The truth is that IGO spent a lot of money during our successful primary election program earlier this year. Now we need your help to fund our general election program — or the gun-grabbers may get their way.
I cannot begin to explain what a DISASTER that would be, not only in Congress but right here in Des Moines.
Instead of staying on offense and working to ban ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ and expand our Stand-Your-Ground law protections, we’ll be on defense, fighting to stop gun control!
The Democrats have been waiting for this chance for a long time, and if they have momentum next session, they’ll be pushing for bills like:
- Legislation to repeal our Stand-Your-Ground law; Iowa’s self-defense laws need to be improved. But if we lose our current laws, liberal prosecutors could throw any one of us in prison for the ‘crime’ of defending ourselves.
- A concerted effort to overturn Constitutional Carry; it’s not just liberal Democrats who want this law overturned, either. RINO Republicans never wanted to pass this, and they would happily overturn it, with help from the Radical Left.
- A renewed push for ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation; which would allow liberal judges here in Iowa to order the seizure of your firearms based on the word of someone who doesn’t like you, before you’ve even been charged with a crime!
And this could be just the beginning.
Our Second Amendment freedoms are THE FREEDOMS that protect the rest — it’s what keeps criminals and our government in check.
>>> HELP IGO HOLD THE LINE IN DES MOINES! <<<
That’s why the Left is trying to strip away our gun rights here in Iowa and move on to passing out-and-out gun control. They want to disarm their political opposition; and we all know why.
We can’t let that happen. That’s why Second Amendment supporters need to stand up and fight back hard right NOW.
There are so many races and situations across our state where Iowa’s gun owners can make a difference, including:
- The Governor’s Race. Zach Lahn has surveyed 100% pro-gun with Iowa Gun Owners. Democrat Rob Sand is trying to convince Iowans that he’s pro-gun, but the truth is that he would do everything in his power to overturn our freedoms. We need to show gun owners where Sand really stands.
- House District 87. Rep. Jeff Shipley has been leading the fight for gun rights in the Iowa House for eight years. He’s been relentless, fighting to ban Red Flags, expand Stand-Your-Ground law, and much more. His opponent, Thomas O’Donnell, is a radical Leftist and would destroy our gun rights. This will be one of the closes races in the state.
- Senate District 23. The Senate has been the death of gun bills for years, Republican nominee Wes Enos could change that. He’s 100% pro-gun. Democrat Tony Thompson is aligned with the hard left and would vote for any gun control bill put before him including a repeal of existing laws already on the books. We need to show gun owners the difference.
Of course, this is just a sampling of many competitive House and Senate races as we head into November. There’s SD-21 in Ankeny, HD-43 in Johnston, a big Sioux City rematch in SD-1.
I could go on.
The outcome of these races will determine the future of Iowa and the nation, so we can’t pull any punches! In fact, we’ve put together a three-part plan to expose these gun-grabbers using:
- A series of 15-, 30- and 60-second digital ads, breaking down the anti-gun records that dozens of elected gun-grabbers are trying to keep secret;
- An exhaustive texting program, putting facts right onto the phones of gun owners. We’ll provide survey results, voting histories, bill numbers, and more;
- A hard-hitting radio (and perhaps even TV ad) campaign hitting the biggest gun control supporters in key districts across the state!
But I need your help to put our plan into action. We still must raise $100,550 — and time is running out!

Won’t you please agree to your most generous gift of $50, $100, or $250 to help us put it into action?
The 2026 elections are absolutely critical for gun owners.
The good news is that IGO’s no-holds-barred tactics have produced devastatingly effective results at election time. We can save this state, but we have to act fast!
I’m chomping at the bit to launch this program. But I can’t do it without your support. So please make an immediate donation of $250, $100, $75, $50 or $25 today!

Iowa Gun Owners
2026 Plan for Victory and Budget
GOAL: FIGHT LIKE HELL TO SAVE OUR SECOND AMENDMENT FREEDOMS, BY EXPOSING THE DEMOCRATS WHO ARE BENT ON DISARMING US!
Digital Ad Campaigns Cost: $74,525
(Statewide)
Description:
Run hard-hitting digital ads on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Roku and more, ensuring that every gun owner in the state learns the truth about where Rob Sand stands. Using social media, we can micro-target our ads down to individual city blocks for legislative races! This program will allow us to connect with over a half million gun voters.
Texting Program Cost: $24,525
(District Specific)
Description:
Connect with hundreds of thousands of gun owners in our targeted legislative races. These alerts are affordable and give gun owners critical information in the days before they head to the polls. Texting alerts are effective since they appear right on a gun owners’ phone. In some districts, we have the data we need. We’ll need to buy data in others.
Media Program Cost: $45,000
(Statewide)
Description:
A combined radio and TV ad campaign in races where the margins are tightest and a last-minute media blitz could educate a massive number of gun voters about the gun control their Democrat incumbent has voted for. This airtime is expensive, but nothing allows us to communicate with more gun owners faster.
Internet and Email Program Cost: $20,500
(District Specific)
Description:
Host all candidates’ survey responses on IGO’s website, so voters can see where their candidates stand on Second Amendment issues. Pay for a series of five emails — including three deploys to a statewide pro-Second Amendment prospect list — and two rounds of emails exposing the records of anti-gun politicians.
Program Cost: $164,550
(Less money raised) ($64,000)
Total Outstanding Budget: $100,550
