For years, Democrats in Congress have dreamed of criminalizing the private sale of firearms and forcing a national “universal background check” law onto the American people.
After all, if they don’t know who owns firearms, they won’t know how to try to take them from us down the road.
That is the reason they want to ban private gun sales.
And now they are closer than ever to pulling it off: H.R. 18 already has 213 cosponsors in Congress — meaning the bill is just FIVE VOTES short of passage in the U.S. House.
But that is not the worst part.
You see, it’s not just Democrats who have cosponsored that bill. Republicans like Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) are openly supporting the bill, too.
Not behind closed doors.
Openly.
Both have already signed on as cosponsors of H.R. 18. And they are actively whipping to get more RINOs to join them.

The fact that both parties are backing this bill makes it extremely dangerous.
Democrats claim this bill is about stopping crime, but that’s absurd. Murderers and gang members do not obey background check laws now, and they won’t obey new ones later.
No, H.R. 18 has one real purpose: gun registration.
Because once the federal government criminalizes private firearm transfers, every gun transaction gets routed through a federally controlled paper trail.
That gives anti-gun politicians exactly what they have wanted for decades — a list of who owns firearms in America.
And gun registration always leads to gun confiscation attempts later.
That’s not paranoia, it’s literally their strategy.
And if another mass shooting dominates the news, our sources tell us that there are at least a dozen weak Republicans in Congress who could cave under pressure and back this bill.
That’s why Iowa Gun Owners needs every gun owner in our state taking action immediately.

The anti-gun Left believes Americans are slowly becoming conditioned to accept the registration and tracking of our firearms.
We cannot afford to stay silent. If we lose our gun rights, there is no getting them back. And eventually, a national gun registry will lead to attempts at national gun confiscation.
After your petition is submitted, please consider making an urgent donation of $10, $25, $50, or even $100 to help IGO mobilize gun owners through email alerts, digital ads, and grassroots pressure campaigns opposing H.R. 18.
Congress is only five votes away.
And if another national tragedy dominates the media cycle, weak Republicans could give anti-gun Democrats the votes they need to ram this bill through Congress.

P.S.H.R. 18 already has 213 cosponsors in Congress — including Republicans Mike Lawler and Brian Fitzpatrick.
That means Congress is now just FIVE VOTES away from passing a national gun registration bill that would criminalize private gun sales all across America!
Please sign your emergency petition immediately and so politicians in both parties know they will be held accountable if they support a national gun registry.
