Earlier today I told you that something outrageous happened in the Senate subcommittee hearing on HF-2718 — our bill to ban ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ in Iowa.
As you probably remember, this bill has already passed the House 67-29 and has tremendous support amongst gun owners.
After all, we all know that Congress may change hands soon and their top goal is a federal ‘Red Flag’ law. For that matter, we may have a Democrat Governor next year.
Banning ‘Red Flags’ has been our top agenda item this year, an agenda supported by House leadership.
Having passed the House, a Senate Judiciary Sub-Committee met to consider HF-2718 yesterday. The bill was opposed by a handful of gun control lobbyists, nothing out of the ordinary.
What was shocking was the fact that the Iowa Firearms Coalition led the opposition to this bill! That’s correct, IFC’s lobbyist openly testified against the bill yesterday!
And the best part is that we got it all on tape.
This should make your blood boil.
While grassroots gun owners across Iowa are fighting to ban ‘Red Flags’ while we have a Republican governor, the Iowa Firearms Coalition showed up in Des Moines to oppose it.
Not Everytown for Gun Safety activists.
Not Giffords’ activists.
Not the Democrats.
The Iowa Firearms Coalition…
This is a massive betrayal of every gun owner in the state. Now that you have this information, please do three things:
- Send this pre-written email to the Senate Judiciary Committee insisting that they pass HF-2718.
- Forward this video to every gun owner you know here in Iowa, so they aren’t fooled any more about the Iowa Firearms Coalition or Senator Jason Schultz.
- Make a donation to Iowa Gun Owners so we can continue leading the fight for this critical legislation in Des Moines.
Time is running out.
Please fire off your emails immediately.
For Iowa,

Aaron Dorr
Chairman
Iowa Gun Owners
P.S. Our bill banning ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ is under attack in Des Moines, not just from gun control lobbyists, but from the Iowa Firearms Coalition — who openly testified against this bill yesterday!
Watch the video, then contact the committee immediately and demand that they pass this bill.
