While the legislature is running into overtime here in Des Moines, going well beyond the scheduled adjournment, the June Primary is coming fast.

For almost twenty years, Iowa Gun Owners has been aggressively involved in exposing anti-gun Democrats and weak RINOs during the primary and general election.

Combined, IGO members have thrown over three dozen incumbents out of office after learning about the bad gun votes their Senator or State Representative cast.

But this program begins with a simple candidate survey.

Our goal is to ask all the candidates (legislative, congressional, and gubernatorial) where they stand on the gun rights issues of the day.

Because of how ‘red’ gun owners have made Iowa, every candidate says they are pro-gun. But we all know talk is cheap. Heck, Rob Sand is bragging about owning handguns right now.

But once they are in office, many legislators forget those cheap promises. That’s why we issue a survey, to get them in writing.

And while we’ll cover legislative surveys soon, I am pleased to announce that Brad Sherman was the first gubernatorial candidate to survey with Iowa Gun Owners and he did it 100% pro-gun!

Brad Sherman has pledged to fight back against the Radical Left’s agenda, veto any ‘Red Flag’ gun confiscation schemes, and stop deadly safe storage laws before they ever reach his desk.

He has also committed to signing pro-gun legislation into law, like Iowa Gun Owners’ bill to ban ‘Red Flag’ laws.

Iowa Gun Owners is happy to acknowledge Brad’s 100% pro-gun candidate survey. The question is, will the other candidates follow suit?

Will Randy Feenstra, Adam Steen, Eddie Andrews and Zach Lahn complete their surveys — or will their consultants tell them to deflect?

It’s clear that Iowa remains at a crossroads. Are Republicans going to continue to try to farm gun owners for votes and deliver no policy wins? Or are they going to fight for us?
