NEXT STEPS: Iowa Needs SAPA Law Now!

With the fight for Constitutional Carry in the rearview mirror here in Iowa, the question I have received more than any other over the last ten days is, ‘what good does that do if Biden crushes the Second Amendment?’

And that was before Biden unveiled executive orders which he intends to use to ban the AR-15 pistol brace and 80% lower receivers, while urging Congress to outright ban our AR-15’s and all mags that hold more than ten rounds of ammo.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is that we can stop him here in Iowa with the Second Amendment Preservation Act (H.F. 518) which states that Iowa’s peace officers may only enforce Iowa law when it comes to firearms, ammunition, and accessories!

That means that unless Biden wants to send federal law enforcement agencies door to door here in Iowa to enforce his gun control agenda, his executive orders and any laws that Congress passes would be completely ignored here.

Sounds too good to be true? It’s not.

The states have always had the right to tell an overbearing federal government to pound sand if federal laws contradicted state laws! What’s more, as you can see here, the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld this concept over and over.

Just like a growing number of states have chosen to ignore federal laws regarding marijuana and legalizing it at the state level, they can choose to ignore federal laws regarding the Second Amendment, too.

The Constitution and case law are clear: the Iowa legislature has the right to nullify federal gun control overreach at the state level. The question is, do they have the political will to do it?

That’s why it’s urgent that you contact your State Representative today and urge him to support H.F. 518 and to pressure House leaders to advance this legislation right away!

This legislation is on the move in ‘red’ states all over America.

Arizona passed this legislation into law two weeks ago. The Missouri House passed this bill last month, and it’s moving in their Senate. An Ohio committee will be considering the bill this week and  it’s on the move in over a dozen more states!

Here in Iowa, the legislature is getting close to adjournment, but the politicians still have several weeks to pass this bill, more if a lengthy budget fight ensues.

And if your State Representative writes you back and says that he would support the bill, but the committee window has closed, make sure he knows that you want him to push for a ‘Leadership Bill’ to address this issue!

You see, the legislative calendar is really just a tool for politicians to kill off bills that they don’t want to advance, while ducking heat from voters in their district.

In reality, the legislature has plenty of tools to advance legislation any time they want to, including ‘Leadership Bills’ which are immune from all committee deadlines.

The incredible members of Iowa Gun Owners have completely reshaped Iowa’s gun laws over the last decade through ‘Shall Issue’ law, Stand-Your-Ground law, Constitutional Carry and over a dozen smaller bills.

And together, we’ve crushed every attempt to ban or register our guns and accessories.

But Joe Biden and the insane asylum in Congress are threatening all of this progress. SAPA law is the ONLY WAY to safeguard our freedoms. Please take action now!

P.S. The fight for Constitutional Carry is over, but the fight to save our freedoms here in Iowa from Joe Biden and the radical left is just beginning!

H.F. 518 would STOP Biden’s war on the Second Amendment by requiring Iowa peace officer to only enforce state law where firearms, ammo, and accessories are concerned — if the legislature passes the bill!

Iowa has the right to ignore federal overreach where our guns are concerned (just like many states ignore federal law where marijuana is concerned) and the Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld this.

But first the legislature must take action on H.F. 518! Please send your State Representative this PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL now!
