Iowa: State Senate Trying to KILL Stand-Your-Ground!

Whether or not our Iowa General Assembly passes Stand-Your-Ground into law this legislative session could very well depend on what happens in the next five minutes.

I hate to be this blunt.

But I need responses from 100% of Iowa Gun Owners’ members and supporters to help me turn up the heat on two key Iowa State Senators IMMEDIATELY.

As you’ll see below, I’ve prepared special petitions to Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal (D-Council Bluffs/Carter Lake) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Steve Sodders (D-Tama/Marshall County).

I hope you’ll sign them IMMEDIATELY – more on that below.

And, if possible, I hope you’ll please include your most generous contribution as well.

You see, Iowa Gun Owners has been flooding legislators’ inboxes, Capitol mail boxes, radio airwaves, and social media for weeks now.

It’s all having a major impact. But I’m counting on you to help me keep it all going!

With every Republican Senate member signed on as cosponsors, I believe you and I are closer than ever to passing Stand-Your-Ground (S.F. 137).

If passed, Stand-Your-Ground would state that law-abiding Iowa gun owners can defend themselves against attackers without fear of being targeted by an anti-gun prosecutor!

Without Stand-Your-Ground, many gun owners who use their firearms to fend off criminal attacks often find they’re little more than sitting ducks.

Many pro-gun control prosecutors, anxious to appear “tough on gun crime” should they seek future political office, often find that Second Amendment supporters are easy targets.

Iowa’s lack of a Stand-Your-Ground Law is a big reason why Guns and Ammo Magazine says there are only 12 states across America with worse gun laws!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough of watching innocent men and women tossed in jail for simply defending themselves against criminal attack.

So have the vast majority of Iowa citizens.

The tidal wave of grassroots support across Iowa for Stand-Your-Ground is building every day.

In fact, a companion bill in the State House has already added 17 cosponsors!

Of course, with anti-gun State Senator Mike Gronstal still nursing a two-seat majority in the State Senate, that’s our biggest test.

That’s why I’ve been working feverishly to turn up the heat on:

>>>  Chairman Steve Sodders, insisting his Judiciary      Committee pass a “clean” Stand-Your-Ground Bill with      no amendments for full floor consideration;

>>>  Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal, insisting he      bring Stand-Your-Ground to the floor of the Senate      for an immediate vote.

Will you do your part, today, by immediately signing your petition to Senator Sodders and Gronstal insisting that they advance Stand-Your-Ground law right away?

Publicly, they’re doing everything they can to ignore the Stand-Your-Ground issue.

But my inside sources at the Capitol tell me that privately, the reality is far different.

Needless to say, the General Assembly in Des Moines is chock full of shady characters who latch onto legislative leadership, hoping to get a few goodies tossed their way.

Legislators often use these sleazy characters to carry messages legislators can never deliver in person.

I’ve already received one backchannel invitation to Des Moines’ filthy “smoky backroom” — where politicians sell their constituents’ freedoms down the river — if I’ll just stop pushing Stand-Your-Ground and stop attacking those who won’t support it.

My response was loud and clear . . .

As far as I’m concerned, our Second Amendment rights aren’t up for horse-trading. PERIOD.

Legislators can either vote for Stand-Your-Ground, or lose their jobs.

It’s that simple.

But this “offer” shows me that the anti-gun Senate Majority is more nervous than ever.

So I believe if you and I can keep up the pressure, we can break through the Senate’s logjam.

That’s why I’m counting on your IMMEDIATE action.

Here’s what you can do to help:

1) Please sign the enclosed petitions to Judiciary          Committee Chairman Steve Sodders and Senate Majority    Leader Mike Gronstal IMMEDIATELY.

With a flood of signed petitions, you and I can PROVE to Senators Sodders and Gronstal that ignoring the Stand-Your-Ground issue could spell their political doom.

2) Enclose your most generous contribution to help me     keep ramping up the pressure on the Iowa Senate.

Your generosity will help me pay for a flood of new petitions, newspaper, and radio ads. These ads aren’t cheap. But the initial round I’ve already paid for have the politicians in Des Moines shaking in their boots. Now I want to do more!

But, of course, I can’t do any of this without your help.

That’s why it’s critical I hear back from EVERY Iowa Gun Owner member and supporter IMMEDIATELY.

In fact, in addition to signing your petitions, my hope is that you’ll agree to a generous contribution of $100
.

I know that’s a lot to ask.

But you and I are proving our pressure is working. If you and I can keep it up, the anti-gun Senate Majority won’t be able to ignore the Stand-Your-Ground issue much longer.

Of course, if $100 is just too much, please agree to $50 or at least $25.

You and I are so close! So please sign and submit your petition right away!

But with the General Assembly in full swing, time is of the essence.

So please fill out and submit your petition IMMEDIATELY along with your most generous contribution of $100, $50 or at least $25 right away!

Aaron Dorr

P.S. Publicly, the anti-gun Senate majority is doing everything they can to ignore the Stand-Your-Ground issue. But my inside sources at the Capitol tell me that privately, the reality is far different!

Our pressure is working. But we must turn up the heat like never before!

Won’t you please sign the petition below to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Steve Sodders (D-Tama/Marshall County) and Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal(Council Bluffs/Pottawattamie County) IMMEDIATELY?

Once you’re finished, I hope I can count on your immediate support to help me maintain the pressure on the State Senate with a donation of $100, $50, or even $25 NOW!
