Do you believe legislators — regardless of which political party they belong to — should be held accountable for voting against our gun rights? You see, not long ago, a Bloomberg spokesman announced his anti-gun organization was preparing to spend MASSIVE amounts — as much as $25 million or more in up to a dozen states — to win as many state-level contests at the ballot box as possible in 2014. Here in Iowa, their goal is to seize control of BOTH houses of the Iowa General Assembly AND our Governor’s Mansion. But the gun-grabbers aren’t leaving anything to chance. They’ve seen the polls. Bloomberg knows the political winds aren’t blowing his way. So while he certainly prefers to elect and reelect anti-gun Democrats whenever possible, Bloomberg knows Republicans he can “work with” are sometimes even more valuable. That way he can cloak his extreme gun control schemes under the guise of “bipartisanship.” His plan for 2014 here in Iowa is to SNEAK as many weak-kneed Republicans through the June 3 primaries as possible WITHOUT being forced to take a clear stand on the Second Amendment. That way, no matter which party has control of our General Assembly after the November 2014 elections, he’ll be free to go on a rampage with his entire anti-gun agenda including: *** So-called “Universal Background Checks.” This has long been at the top of Bloomberg’s agenda. As a former cop, I can tell you the only way to enforce this scheme is to track, trace and register every gun and gun owner in the state; And you and I both know registration is the first step toward OUTRIGHT confiscation! *** A state-level so-called “assault weapons ban,” banning many firearms commonly used for self-defense, hunting and target shooting based on appearances. *** So-called “mental health” legislation to strip law-abiding Iowans of their Second Amendment Rights just because some bureaucrat doesn’t like your race, religion or political views.
